Sri Lanka yesterday announced that cigarette manufacturing had declined by six percent in 2008 due to the price hike imposed by the government. Sri Lanka's Deputy Finance Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said that compared to 2007, the production has declined by six percent.
