UNP claims govt. sold out Amunugama says welfare subsidies intact despite IMF conditions

The UNP yesterday charged that the government was bowing down to IMF conditions and cutting down on welfare subsidies and other forms of public spending to obtain the loan. Speaking in parliament UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe voiced concerns over what sort of conditions the government would have to bend knee to after the loan was given.
