Major General Sanath Karunaratne, a veteran soldier and one time military spokesman said he had been involved in efforts to achieve peace through non-military means. Addressing troops at the Ambepussa Sinha Regiment Regimental Centre recently, he expressed satisfaction that he was able to play a role in the government Peace Secretariat under Ambassador Jayantha Dhanapala.
