A lorry transporting a load of rice to Dambulla, was hijacked by an armed gang yesterday at Thulhiriya. Police said that the gang, after robbing the load of rice in 99 bags and about Rs. 40,000, had left the lorry along with the driver and the cleaner at Galewela.
